Live Double Red Dog

Live Double Red Dog is based on Red Dog, also known as Red Dog Poker or Yablon, and is considered a variant of Acey-Deucey. It may be played with one to eight standard, 52-card decks. Double Red Dog utilizes two boxes that can fit three cards, hence the "Double." Aces are high and the suit doesn't matter. Players make their bet and two cards are placed face-up within each of the two boxes. If the cards are consecutive in number then the hand is a push and bets are returned. If the cards are equal then a third card is dealt within that box, and pays out at 11:1 if it creates three-of-a-kind. Otherwise, that box is a push and the bet is returned. If neither of those two outcomes occur and there is a spread between the two cards, then that spread is announced to the player with specific odds for each spread value. The player may now double their bet or stand before the third card is dealt. If the third card's value falls between the two then the player wins. An example of a player win is if the first two cards are a five and a nine, and then the third card is a seven. The odds are 5:1 for a spread of one, 4:1 for two, 2:1 for three, and then 1:1 for 4-11. Due to the double box aspect of this game, there is a 20:1 payout for four-of-a-kind as well.
