GeorgiaGeorgia allows online lottery ticket sales. It does not license or regulate any other forms of online gaming. The Georgia Lottery began selling lottery tickets online on 25 November 2012. To buy tickets online, lottery players have to sign up for the Georgia Lottery Players Club. Players can purchase Mega Millions, Powerball and Fantasy 5 tickets on the Georgia Lottery's website while located within the state of Georgia. To purchase lottery tickets online, players also need to sign up for an iHOPEcard, a prepaid debit card. Prizes up to $5,000 won from purchases made on the Georgia Lottery's website will automatically be paid to the player's iHOPEcard account. If a purchase made on the Georgia Lottery's website wins a prize over $5,000, the player will be notified via e-mail to visit a Georgia Lottery district office to complete the prize claim. On 26 February 2016, the office of Attorney General Samuel Owens issued a statement saying that daily fantasy sports are not authorized under Georgia law. House Bill 118 surfaced in January 2017, aiming to regulate fantasy sports, allowing websites to pay a 6% annual tax and receive licensing. Rep. Trey Kelley, one of the bill's sponsors, emphasized a need to protect consumers. However, the bill was tabled until 2018, when it was tabled again. In January 2024, a daily fantasy sports bill failed to get through the House, but proponents were hopeful to revive its chances by hitching onto the sports betting initiative. Though daily fantasy sports sites remain active, there is no specific legislation in effect. The 1 Georgia site supports English. with United States Dollars. edit your preferences Georgia
