West VirginiaIn July 2016, Attorney General Patrick Morrisey determined that daily fantasy sports are not illegal in the state. S 529, a bill aiming to regulate the DFS industry, passed the Senate by 18-16 in February 2016, but hasn't seen movement since. In March 2019, the West Virginia Lottery Interactive Wager Act automatically became law when Gov. Jim Justice let the veto window pass. The law legalized online casino gambling in West Virginia, providing one license for each of West Virginia's five casinos. There was no firm launch date set for the first West Virginia online casino, as regulations and the application process still needed to be outlined. The WV Lottery had until June 2020 to finalize regulations.
