In June 2018, a law to regulate online gaming in Switzerland passed by 73% of the country's voters went into effect on 1 January 2019. In January 2019, Switzerland’s new Federal Act on Money Games entered into force and applies to all online real money games. Under the AMG, online gambling is permitted, however the organizer must obtain a Swiss licence. Online casino licences be available only to existing Swiss land-based casino operators for the first six years after the entry into force of the AMG (2019 to 2024).
