KenyaKenya has one of the most liberalized gambling industries in Africa, with most forms of gambling permitted, including casinos, betting, online betting, online casinos and mobile casinos. The first legal and regulated online gaming sites appeared in 2011, and since then, online gaming and betting sites have increased greatly in popularity. In June 2017, Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta signed a new gambling tax into law (Finance Bill 2017) imposing a standard 35% tax rate across all gambling revenue in the country, including on betting, casinos and lotteries. Previously, licensed and regulated Kenyan land-based and online sports betting firms were subject to taxes of only 7.5%. In March 2011, the Betting Control and Licensing Board of Kenya selected Amaya Gaming Group to launch a trial online gambling site in the country. Amaya operated several scratch ticket sites and a 6/48 and SMS lottery site in Kenya before launching the country's first legal online gaming site, www.betkenya.com. The site was restricted to Kenyan players and offered slot games, table games, poker and a sportsbook. Unlicensed foreign gaming sites are redirected to www.betkenya.com. The site is no longer in operation. There are 20 Kenya sites. edit your preferences Kenya
