Australian Capital TerritoryThe ACT's Interactive Gambling Act 1998 regulates online wagering services that are permissible under federal law – lotteries and sports and race wagering. Online sports bookmakers based in the ACT must hold an ACT sports bookmaking license. Sports bookmaking in the ACT is governed by the provision of the Race and Sports Bookmaking Act 2001. ACT-licensed online wagering operators are also subject to national measures under the National Consumer Protection Framework, including BetStop (the national self-exclusion register), pre-verification of customers and the federal ban on using credit cards and digital currencies for online wagering introduced in June 2024.
