The Reel Life: Mother's love edition

A Chinese national was allowed to return to his home in the U.K. despite his luggage being over the weight limit when the airport staff learned that it was full of pancakes from his mother.

The man had returned home to celebrate the New Year with his mother, who had sent him back to the U.K. with several jars of pickled vegetables and 30 pounds of homemade pancakes.

At first, the airport staff was deeply confused about why anyone would try to board a plane with a 30-pound stack of pancakes, but they were moved upon hearing the pancakes' backstory and allowed the traveler to fly with them as a carry-on.

Since this was not a U.S. airport, the pancakes did not have to be split up into 3.4-ounce packages to be allowed on the flight, which would have been barbaric.

Photos of the enormous pile of pancakes have been making their way around Chinese social media, which the Reel Life is going to assume has made everyone on the Chinese internet very hungry for pancakes.

Come to think of it, we could go for some pancakes ourselves. . . .
