The Reel Life: Hot Pockets edition

Everyone likes to hate on Hot Pockets. Thanks, Jim Gaffigan.

The reality, though, is that Hot Pockets are delicious, albeit nutritionally disastrous. Have you ever come back to your dorm room late in the middle of the night, and the only thing of substance available to eat is the ham and cheese Hot Pocket in the campus convenience store's freezer? It's a damn good meal.

And as if Hot Pockets weren't already amazing, they are now apparently lifesavers. In Akron, Ohio, there was a horrifying plane crash that killed nine people when the charter jet crashed into an apartment building.

Luckily, one person survived the crash. That was Jason Bartley, the tenant of the apartment struck by the plane, who was late coming home because he stopped at a convenience store to pick up — you guessed it — two Hot Pockets.

Bartley, according to Ohio.com, picked up both a breakfast Hot Pocket and a pizza Hot Pocket. (Pizza Hot Pocket?!?! The Reel Life's gotta get one of those, pronto.)

So the moral of the story, then, is that Hot Pockets are amazing. Better than we all thought, really.
