Rebecca Liggero
Rebecca Liggero loves meeting new people and traveling – perfect qualities for someone who has won friends and influenced people in the worldwide online gaming community. After graduating from Bates College with a degree in psychology, Rebecca spent four years in Washington, DC, working in relationship management, dreaming all the while about someday making it big in online gaming. After turning down an opportunity to live in New Zealand, she moved back to Boston and signed on as Senior Account Manager for Casino City – the beginning of a dream come true! Rebecca’s work on behalf of Casino City (and later for the GPWA as well) took her to trade shows and conferences everywhere – Amsterdam, Barcelona, Costa Rica, Montreal, London, Las Vegas, Macau and many other ports of call – and along the way she began chronicling her incredible around-the-clock adventures in a wildly entertaining and industry-savvy weekly column that quickly became – and still remains – must reading for everyone who is anyone in online gaming. Following almost three years with the Casino City team, Rebecca spent a few months at Everest Affiliates where she was the Brand Manager of the affiliate program. While working on “the other side,” she realized that she truly missed her weekly column and the affiliate side of the business and decided to return to the Casino City family. One and a half years later, Rebecca resigned from Casino City and joined industry icon Calvin Ayre to serve as the Bodog Global Brand Ambassador and the head on-site reporter for the online gambling industry tablog, CalvinAyre.com. In her new capacity, Rebecca continues to travel the world, and when asked where she is based, her response is usually "on an airplane." Contact Rebecca at rebecca@liggero.net. Be careful, though – she might quote you.

Rebecca's Recommendations - November 17, 2005

Welcome back! I have returned in one piece, and now I'm ready to fill you in on my whirlwind of a trip to NYC's AdTech. First of all, I decided to book a room at the Hotel Pennsylvania because the recommended accommodations were at least $400 per night. One piece of advice for you: if you travel to NYC, please do not stay in the Hotel Pennsylvania. Ew. Anyway, aside from the crappy hotel (which was $200 a night (!), might I add), I had a fabulous time meeting with my online casino clients at AdTech. Do I pick favorites? Yes. I just can't help it. Do I choose who to feature in my newsletter based on these favorites? No. Online gaming sites that I believe to be fun, trustworthy, and reputable are the ones I choose to mention in my newsletter. It just so happens that many of my favorites fall into this category...

Now for day number one. I kicked off my day at McCormick & Schmick's for a lunch date with the folks behind Monaco Gold and Club Dice (amongst others). We had a fantastic meal along with a fantastic conversation, and please stay tuned for some special offers that will be created exclusively for Casino City players. Following lunch, I grabbed a drink with my adorable rugby friend who represents Bingo Cafe and JetBingo. Together, we have arranged an EXTRA $10 free for new Casino City players. Amazing offers for two amazing bingo sites. Next, I was treated to a delicious cappuccino by the Casino Rewards team who represent sites such as Blackjack Ballroom Casino and Golden Tiger, amongst others. We came up with some ways to award Casino City players with some pretty cool prizes, so keep your eyes out for that too. My last stop before the big, dangerous, open bar AdTech party was a scrumptious dinner with my Spin Palace and Ruby Fortune contacts. What a class act. I was extremely impressed by their intelligence, dedication to customer service, willingness to reward Casino City players, and passion for the industry. After dinner we hopped a cab to the AdTech party. I would love to provide you with some juicy details except for the fact that none of us really remember what happened. Whoops.

Ok, so day number two. I managed to pull myself together for my morning meeting with the lovely Piggs Peak (amongst others) team. We had a very pleasant conversation and discussed all the seasonal promotions that they are running for players like you- please click here for more details. I spent the majority of the afternoon with my InterCasino.com contact, a person who never ceases to amaze me with his ideas, knowledge, and willingness to help improve every Casino City player's experience at his online casino. As you should already know, you cannot go wrong with InterCasino- this site is as solid as you can get. Last, but not least, I met with the Roxy Palace and Vegas Splendido team. These guys impressed me so much that I decided to feature Vegas Splendido in addition to the already featured Roxy Palace on Online Casino City.

Oh! And one more thing..."60 Minutes" will be featuring a segment on Internet Gambling this coming Sunday, November 20th. You can catch this program on CBS stations at 7 pm (ET/PT). Be there or be square.
