PokerStars World Blogger Championship of Online Poker returns in March

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The PokerStars.eu WBCOOP is returning for an eighth successive year from March 1-11, with 31 tournaments scheduled and tens of thousands of dollars to be won.

Bloggers can win money and tournament tickets by playing in the WBCOOP series (available on .com and .eu clients) but rewards of $5,000, $1,000 and $500 are also available to "Best Blogger," "Best Live Tweeter" and "Best Female Blogger" respectively. There’s also a WBCOOP Leaderboard with additional prizes for the players who rack up the most points (based on finishing positions) during the tournament series.

To enter, bloggers just need to follow the instructions on the Web page.

This year, several Team PokerStars Pros, including Chris Moneymaker, Liv Boeree, Nacho Barbero and Lex Veldhuis, will also join in some of the tournaments, with $22 bounties on their heads.

Boeree said: “It’s so cool that writers and bloggers get their own online poker tournament series. Having worked for poker media in the past I know how passionate those people are about the game and how much they play in their spare time. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of this year’s WBCOOP champions go on to win even bigger tournaments in the future.”
