PokerStars releases details of two tours

23 Dec 2010

(PRESS RELEASE) -- PokerStars has released details of the new season of the Latin American Poker Tour, which begins in Brazil, in February 2011. LAPT Season 4 will see stops in Brazil, Chile, Peru and Argentina, but will also head to Colombia for the first time.

The Brazil leg will also mark a change to previous years, taking place in Sao Paulo for the first time, while the Colombian capital Bogota will be the newest LAPT event. The Main Events will have buy-ins starting from $1,000.

Season 4 will also see the addition of the LAPT Awards, which, in a similar vein to the EPT Awards, will recognise the best player performances across the entire Latin American Poker Tour. The season gets under way in Brazil on February 16 and finishes in Colombia on August 7. For more details about all of the new events, as well as the tour in general, go to the LAPT website

ANZPT Season 3

The third season of the PokerStars.net Australia New Zealand Poker Tour has been announced and will get under way in Adelaide on February 2-6. Last season took in eight events across Australia and New Zealand with a combined prize pool of $4,318,979. Season 3 looks set to be even bigger, with all venues – Adelaide, Perth, Sydney (twice), Canberra, Queenstown, Gold Coast, Melbourne – seeing a return stop, and the possibility of more to be announced.

There is also a Player of the Year competition, which rewards the highest points-scoring player over the entire ANZPT, with a PokerStars.net sponsorship package to four Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) events, and either the Aussie Millions Main Event or the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) Main Event. Team PokerStars Pro Tony Hachem won the title in both Seasons 1 and 2.
