PokerStars launches new 'Time Tourney' games

LONDON, England -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- PokerStars today launched a brand new, fast-paced and exciting tournament format called Time Tourneys. In contrast to traditional multi-table tournaments, which continue until one player has all the chips, Time Tourneys last for a set period of time. Once the time limit is reached, the entire prize pool is divided among the remaining players based on the players’ stack sizes.

The new tourney format is available to play at a wide range of buy-ins, with games starting from just $1, and run around the clock. The length of Time Tourneys range between 15 minutes and 180 minutes, so there’s a game to suit everyone. Players can fit in a tourney over breakfast, in a lunch hour, or over the course of an evening.

To mark the launch of Time Tourneys, PokerStars is giving everyone the chance to try the new format for free, by offering a tournament ticket worth $5.50* to all players who make a deposit of $30 or more using the code ‘TIME’ between October 19-28.

Players can find Time Tourneys in the PokerStars client by clicking on the ‘Tourney’ tab and looking for tournaments marked with a stopwatch icon. Players can also search for them by typing ‘Time’ into the Tourney Filter.

As part of the Time Tourneys launch, from October 22 a new event will be added to the Saturday Line-Up. The Saturday Countdown – a two-hour Time Tourney featuring a $22 buy-in – will run every week at 13.00 ET with a $10,000 guarantee. However, for the following Saturday – October 29 – all the Saturday Line-Up guarantees will be doubled!
