Poker Channel to broadcast 20 hours of live TV poker

13 Jan 2010

LONDON, England -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Poker Channel, Europe's largest gaming TV network, announces today it has scheduled over 20 hours of live poker over 3 days, more than any other European broadcaster.

The Poker Channel will broadcast the final two days of the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure ('PCA') live from the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. The World Cup of Poker Grand Final will air live on TV tonight, Wednesday 13th January. The High Roller Final will air live on Thursday 14th January. Coverage of both events will start at 2100 GMT and continue for up to 8 hours each night until the events finish. The Poker Channel aired the PCA main event final table live in its entirety from 2100 GMT Monday 11th January.

The events will be broadcast on The Poker Channel to over 18 million TV homes in 25 European countries (full country listing below), including the UK (on Sky Channel 166 and Freesat Channel 402), France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. Full TV broadcast details can be found at www.pokerchanneleurope.com/caribbean-adventure.

Live TV coverage on Wednesday 13th January will feature the World Cup of Poker ('WCP') Grand Final between the USA, Germany, Canada, Italy, Finland, Norway, Croatia, Taiwan and Chile.

Live TV coverage on Thursday 14th January will feature the final table of the prestigious $25,000 High Roller event with some of the biggest names in world poker. Last year's event was won by Frenchman and Team Pokerstars Pro, Bertrand Grospellier, aka ElkY.

Chris White, MD of The Poker Channel said, "we're delighted to bring live poker back to the Poker Channel with some of the most prestigious events in the poker calendar. We were the first channel to show a full live poker event on TV - the British Poker Open – back in 2005. We know our European viewers want more live TV coverage so we're working with world-class production teams and sponsors to offer this on a regular basis."
