Betway signs champion National Hunt jockey Paul Townend as an ambassador

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Leading global online sports betting and gaming brand Betway has signed seven-time Irish National Hunt Champion Jockey Paul Townend as an ambassador.

The deal will see Paul sharing his insights ahead of all the biggest meetings and races throughout the National Hunt season on both sides of the Irish Sea. The brand will showcase Townend’s views on their Betway Insider blog alongside existing write-ups from ITV commentator Richard Hoiles. They also add the four-time Cheltenham Gold Cup winner to an impressive list of ambassadors which includes football superstar Thierry Henry and cricket legend Graeme Smith.

Betway, owned by global digital gaming company Super Group, were previous sponsors of the feature race of Wednesday’s Cheltenham Festival card, the Champion Chase, which Paul won twice on Energumene. He also won the Grand National at Aintree on I Am Maximus in 2024, following on from his success partnering the horse to victory in the Irish version one year earlier.
