Zamani wins first online bracelet of 2021 WSOP series

4 Oct 2021

Martin "Bathroomline" Zamani of Boca Raton, Florida earned his second World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet early Monday morning by taking down WSOP.com (NV/NJ) Online Bracelet $5,300 NL Hold'em Freezeout for $210,600. Zamani locked up the bracelet and six-figure score after defeating Ankush "Rickrosstheb" Mandavia during a short heads-up battle. For his runner-up finish, Mandavia cashed for $122,850.

The one-day, single-entry online tournament attracted 156 runners and paid out 30 players. Play lasted for nearly 11 hours and then final table commenced with eight players remaining.

Soheb "TommyConway6" Porbandarwala was eliminated on the final table bubble when his queen-ten couldn't get there against the king-eight of Calvin "projector52" Anderson, who eventually finished in fourth place for $54,600.

Zamani, who took down the WSOP.com Event #19: PLO Crazy Eights - 8 Handed in July for $92,598, stayed quiet during the first hour or so of play at the final table and won a big hand when he knocked out Anderson with two-pair against top pair.

Not long after, Zamani won a crucial flip to eliminate Brian "JackBogle" Altman in third place and entered heads-up play with a massive chip advantage. He eliminated Mandavia when he got it in with jack-seven against king-five and flopped trips.

Jason "EddieVedder" Koon and Alex "OrcinusOrca" Foxen both made the final table and were eliminated in sixth and eighth place, respectively. Other notable players in the field who didn't reach the final table include Daniel "Dnegs" Negreanu and Connor "666666" Drinan, who was multi-tabling and eventually took down Event #5: $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better.
