Wynn Considers Return to Atlantic City

27 Sep 2006

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "He's the guy who glamorized Atlantic City's casino industry in the 1980s and then left town in a huff over New Jersey's onerous gaming regulations. He made a celebrated return in 1995 by promising to build an opulent, Las Vegas-style casino and then pulled up stakes after polarizing the city with demands for a controversial roadway project that cut through a residential neighborhood.

"Now gaming mogul Steve Wynn is back in town to scout prospects for another casino. He met privately Friday with Gov. Jon S. Corzine and other key officials to discuss the project, but offered few details about what he would like to build.

"...Speculation is mounting that Wynn wants to redevelop Bader Field after the antiquated municipal airport closes Saturday to make way for new construction..."
