WSOP announces International Circuit schedule

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The WSOP International Circuit continues to build momentum and will host a record number of stops as part of its 2017-18 schedule. There are already 13 confirmed stops lined up, with additional stops expected to be added to the 2018 portion of the calendar.

The 2017-18 WSOP International Circuit schedule gets underway this year in August, with stops in both Holland and Argentina. The International circuit will continue every month after that through its conclusion in May 2018.

Like the U.S. domestic circuit, the International track will feature two qualifiers per stop for the WSOP Global Casino Championship. A Main Event winner and the Casino Champion will each win automatic entry into the season-culminating event, in addition to the gold WSOP Circuit ring and prize money from that event. The International and U.S. tours collide in the season-culminating Global Casino Championship in summer 2018. There are no at-large qualifications on the International stops, and the International portion is expected to contribute 34 qualifiers to the Global Casino Championship.

International stop players have two ways to qualify for the 2017-18 Global Casino Championship: (1.) win a Circuit Main Event or (2.) win a Casino Championship, which is defined as the player at each stop who accumulates the most points throughout the gold ring schedule at the international stop. Each of these players will receive a freeroll seat into the culminating event and be combined with the U.S. Domestic circuit qualifiers, which includes 50 at-large point qualifiers, plus the up to 52 qualifiers that garner a seat via automatic qualification methods.
