World Gaming Execs Resign

UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the UK Guardian: "James Grossman, the chairman of the online gambling group World Gaming, has resigned because of the increasing regulatory pressure being exerted on the industry and its directors in the US. A second non-executive director resigned for similar reasons.

"The company has close links to its much larger rival Sportingbet, which is in talks to take over the group. Sportingbet's chairman, Peter Dicks, was arrested this month in the US over his company's possible breaches of Louisiana morality laws. He has been released on bail and denies wrongdoing.

"World Gaming, run by former Sportingbet staff Daniel Moran and David Naismith, provides hosting, payment and other services to Sportingbet. In December it acquired Sportsbetting.com, a bookmaking, poker and casino website earning 98% of its revenues in the US…"
