Winning Poker Network’s $7 Million Venom kicks off 24 July

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Big summer poker has officially arrived. Winning Poker Network’s $7 Million Venom gets underway on Friday, 24 July, filling the void left by Sin City’s growing list of cancelled poker series. The multi-day online poker tournament, which takes place at network sites including Americas Cardroom, Black Chip Poker, and YaPoker, features $7 million in guaranteed prize money, including $1 million for first place.

“It really doesn’t get any bigger than this,” stated Winning Poker Network spokesperson Michael Harris. “The $7 million Venom promises to be one for the record books and players can get into it from as little as $0.11. There’s really no excuse not to play.”

Cards are in the air for the $7 Million Venom on 24 July. Players can choose to start at 1pm ET on four separate Day 1 options - 24, 26 and 31, and 2 August. Each Day 1 feeds into a Day 2 on Monday, 3 August at 1pm ET, which leads to Day 3 on Tuesday, 4 August at 1pm ET. The final table kicks off on Wednesday, 5 August at 5pm ET.

The Venom buy-in runs $2,650, but players can get into it for far less via Satellites, Megas, Step Tourneys and Cyclones, the latter of which is proving quite popular among those seeking a seat.

Cyclones are Blitz Poker satellites, which start at just 11 cents. Players advance through each of the nine levels by earning 5,000 chips, and then win their $2,650 Venom ticket on the final level.

This is the third Venom that Winning Poker Network has hosted. Last summer, the U.S.-facing network held a $5 Million version, which featured a final prize pool of $6,382,500. Just four months later, the card room held the $6 Million Venom to the tune of $6,740,000 in final prize money.
