William Hill names new CEO

ENGLAND -- As reported by Bloomberg: "William Hill Plc, the British operator of more than 2,200 betting shops, named its U.K. head Ralph Topping as chief executive officer, ending an eight-month search.
"Topping, 56, will become CEO with immediate effect, the London-based bookmaker said today. He replaces David Harding, who announced plans to step down in June and left on Sept. 30.
"...The new CEO joined the bookmaker in 1973 and held positions including retail operations director and Internet director, the statement shows. He was appointed to the board in April. William Hill expanded under Harding's leadership with 2005's agreement to buy competitor Stanley Leisure Plc's betting shops..."
