William Hill launches Irish betting site

DUBLIN, Ireland -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- William Hill Sportsbook & Racebook, one of the world’s leading sports betting and gaming providers, has launched a brand new Irish site. The new site will offer Irish punters an unrivalled number of betting opportunities on a wide variety of global and local sporting events.

The firm spent over a year developing their Irish site, with the aim of competing with their rivals for a slice of the estimated €1 billion Irish online betting and gaming market.

William Hill Online, who won the ‘betview award for best online site’ this year, will offer Irish punters over 500,000 betting oppotunities every week on a whole host of events including GAA, football, horse racing, rugby, golf, motor sports, US sports and a wide range of Irish novelty markets.

The site will also offer Irish players a huge variety of gaming experiences, including bingo, poker, casino, live casino, vegas and slot games, while those who fancy themselves as the next Gordon Gekko can indulge themselves at William Hill Online’s new financial site called ‘Day Trader’.

Mobile betting is a huge growth area for the company, with William Hill Online reporting an 800% increase in their mobile turover this year. Hills will offer their Irish customers four different mobile apps –Mobile sportsbook, Racing App (Racing Post/WilliamHill), Shake-A-Bet and Match predictor.

“We’re really excited about our new Irish venture and we’re confident it will be a huge hit with Irish punters,’ said Tony Kenny, Head of International Public Relations at William Hill, “The site itself took a year to design, develop and test, but all good things take time.’

William Hill, who also operate 52 retail betting shops in Ireland, already employs a number of Irish people and are looking to recruit more Irish sports enthusiasts.

“We already have around twenty Irish people working for William Hill Online and with further global expansions planned, we’ll be looking for more top quality Irish staff to join our energetic team,” said Kenny.
