West Virginia passes sports betting bill

(PRESS RELEASE) -- In October 2017, Eilers & Krejcik Gaming was engaged by the West Virginia Lottery to conduct a market study covering the impact of sports betting legalization on the West Virginia gaming market and overall economy. After delivering its initial report, Eilers & Krejcik Gaming continued to serve as a resource for the West Virginia Lottery as the agency moved its sports betting initiative from proposal to reality.

On 10 March 2018, a bill to legalize and regulate sports betting in West Virginia became law (pending the end of a federal ban on state-regulated sports betting). Eilers & Krejcik Gaming would like to congratulate partners at the West Virginia Lottery and everyone involved in the passage of the bill. West Virginia's decisive action ensures that it will be among the first wave of states to launch regulated sports betting in a post-PASPA world.
