Virginia Lottery releases August 2025 sports wagering activity report

Between 1-31 August 2025, Virginians wagered $510,179,552, 22.4% higher than last August. A complete list of all approved operators can be found here, under the “approvals” tab. For August, fourteen mobile operators and three casinos were authorized to accept wagers in Virginia.
Virginia bettors won a total of $447,299,369 for a combined 12.33% operators win percentage.
State law places a 15% tax on sports betting activity based on each permit holder’s adjusted gross revenue, which is defined as total wagers minus total winnings and other authorized deductions.
