UNiTAB Takeover Talk Heats Up

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Australian Advertiser: "The notion of Adelaide's casino operator taking over the state's TAB operator is growing.
"This follows comments by SkyCity Entertainment Group managing director Evan Davies, who describes the two parent gaming companies as 'complementary'.
"Auckland-based SkyCity owns casinos in New Zealand, Adelaide and Darwin while Brisbane-based UNiTAB operates a range of gaming and wagering services, such as racing and sports betting, in Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
"Speculation about a SkyCity takeover of UNiTAB began last month with news that long-serving UNiTAB chief executive Dick McIlwain would leave in October…"
