UltimateBet announces weekend charity poker tournament

MIAMI, Florida -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- UltimateBet today announced the AUFA Charity Xmas Bonanza, a charity poker tournament slated to run this Saturday at 7:30pm ET on the leading online poker site. World poker champion Annie Duke will be playing in the event and all funds raised through the No Limit Hold'em tournament will be donated to Ante Up For Africa, an organization created to raise public awareness and funds for the humanitarian crisis in Darfur. The online poker room has also added a variety of tech toys to the prize pool to make giving even more attractive.

"There's no better time than the holidays to do something good," stated Annie Duke, Cardroom Consultant for UltimateBet and cofounder of Ante Up For Africa. "UltimateBet is once again inviting players to make a big difference through a charity poker tournament that's incredibly rewarding on so many levels and I'm honored to be a part of it."

The buy-in for the No Limit Texas Hold'em rebuy tournament is $2+0 and while 100% of the buy-ins collected will be donated to Ante Up For Africa, online poker fans won't be playing for nothing.

To sweeten the pot, UltimateBet is donating over $2,500 worth of gadgets and poker gear to the tournament prize pool. Prizes at stake in the tournament include: an XBOX 360 Elite system; an iPod touch (32GB); a Sony Handycam Camcorder; a Nintendo DS; a seat in UltimateBet's $200k Guaranteed Texas Hold'em tournament; a Sony 8" Portable DVD Player; a Bluetooth laser virtual keyboard; an iOmega external hard drive; an Aero bed tailgater chair; and several poker branded t-shirts.

UltimateBet is a longtime supporter of Ante Up For Africa. In July, UltimateBet introduced a variety of innovative ways for players to make a contribution to the cause using their UltimatePoints and this past October, the online poker site hosted a charity poker tournament at the 2008 Aruba Poker Classic, their signature land-based poker event.

As a result of their movement to the CEREUS Poker Network, online poker players at Absolute Poker can also participate in the tournament. More information on this weekend's AUFA Charity Xmas Bonanza is available at www.ultimatebet.com.
