UK Betting Sites Attacked

UNITED KINGDOM -- As reported by the Sydney Morning Herald: "Two top British betting sites and the well-known British tech publication The Register have been hit by distributed denial of service attacks this week.
"Tote went offline for eight hours and Sporting Bet took a three-hour hit, the network services firm Netcraft reported.
"The company monitors 20 leading British gambling sites and dynamically updates the uptime data for them.
"...Betting sites in the UK have been regularly hit by such outages, including a rash of attacks during the Euro 2004 football tournament and Wimbledon..."
