UAW lambasts Harrah's

"In written testimony submitted for Thursday's public hearing before the Kansas Lottery Gaming Facilities Review Board, UAW Region 5 Director Jim Wells said private equity firms that acquired the Las Vegas-based gaming industry giant in January were heavily leveraged and 'may have serious problems financing a project in Sumner County south of Wichita.'
"Wells also slapped Harrah's for its resistance to a UAW organizing effort among casino workers at Bally's in Atlantic City, and cited criminal prosecutions of two Harrah's senior employees in Las Vegas for alleged city building and fire code violations that may have threatened public safety..."
