Top 10 types of live dealer games
According to the new Live Dealer section at Online.CasinoCity.com, there are 147 different live dealer games offered by 46 game providers at 268 sites, and those numbers are growing on a regular basis.
Here we look at the top 10 types of live dealer games for players to enjoy, along with a few examples of each type.
Let’s start with slots:
10. Slots
Players know that when you are either in a casino at a slot machine or playing slots online, you must enter the amount of money you want for the slot and either press a spin button or pull the lever. However, when playing a slot at a live dealer casino, that can be done for you. Players are given the option of which slot machine they would like to play and are able to instruct the dealer how they wish the game to be played. For example, you can tell the dealer how much to wager and when to spin and so on.
9. Lottery
Live Dealer Lottery gives players the opportunity to enjoy all of the offerings that a drawing on TV would give you, but at any time a player chooses.
Just like buying a lottery ticket, players can select several numbers and attempt to have them match the balls that are picked out, but by a live dealer in this situation.
Some of the live dealer lottery games also allow side bets to be placed. For example, you could wager on the sum of the numbers that are drawn, how many odd or even numbers are picked and so on.
Live Lucky 5 is an example of a Live Dealer Lottery game. In this version, 36 balls are cycled by air jets in a see-through container. The balls are marked by one of four colors and each color is represented by nine balls. The balls are numbered 1-36, and players can wager on what numbers will be drawn along with what colors. Once the bets are placed, the balls are randomly draw to determine the winners.
Live Lucky 6 is another version but with some differences. In Live Lucky 6, 60 balls are numbered zero through nine; half of them are red and half are blue. The sum of the red balls is 138 and blue is 132. Six balls are chosen once the bets are made. Players can look to gamble on the color of the balls, the sum of the balls being odd or even, and more.
8. Bingo
Players who decide to take part in Live Dealer Bingo games have the chance to choose their entry fee and between 75-, 80- and 90-ball bingo games.
Live Caller Bingo has an on-screen caller who announces to the online players the number of the ball when it comes out of the tumbler. This game is pretty much the same as your typical bingo game where you are trying to complete a full line on your bingo card, but having a live caller announce the numbers online is the additional element that live dealer bingo has.
7. Dice Games
Live Dealer Dice Games really can add the feeling of being in a land-based casino. There are online dice games where you can click a button and the dice will roll for you, but with live dealer dice games, a dealer will roll for you, making it more of an in-person gambling experience.
Craps can be a complicated game for those who are not familiar with it, but for those who are, live dealer craps is basically the same game as craps in a casino. However, there is a dealer who is the shooter for everyone participating at the online craps table.
Live Dice Duel also uses the live dealer as the roller in this game. In Dice Duel, two dice of different colors are rolled by the dealer and the die that shows the higher value is the winner. The most common bet placed in this game is which color die will win or if it will be a tie. There can also be wagers placed on specific numbers showing up on each die, or if the number of the die will be odd or even and many more options.
6. Wheel Games
Live Dealer Wheel Games typically use a live host to spin a vertical wheel in these games of chance. The main feature of the wheel games are to attempt to guess the number or color that the wheel will stop on, depending how the wheel is broken up into segments.
Wheel of Fortune is a game that everyone has either heard of or seen at one time or another. In Live Wheel of Fortune, there are 19 spaces on the wheel, numbered 1 through18 with the last space having a symbol on it. The spaces also have one of three colors associated with them. Before the host spins the wheel, players can place their bets on which color or number it will stop on, if the number will be odd or even, and more.
Live Dream Catcher has some of the same features that Live Wheel of Fortune has, but also some major differences. The wheel in Dream Catcher has various numbers at various frequencies: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 40. The host will wait for the bets before spinning the wheel just like in Live Wheel of Fortune. Players can bet on what number they think the wheel will stop on. This game also includes bonus multipliers.
Check out this incredible big win on Dream Catcher! Our Money Wheel landed on the 7x multiplier TWICE followed by a 40 to give players a huge payout of 1960x their original bet! 5. Baccarat
Baccarat is a very popular card game partially because it has one of the lowest house edges out of the casino games.
In Live Baccarat, the game is played just as if you were sitting at a table in a casino. There is a dealer that you are competing against to determine whose hand will have the higher value. Players can bet on which hand will win or if it will be a tie.
There are many different versions of live baccarat. Baccarat Squeeze is very similar to traditional baccarat, but with a little twist. The word "squeeze" is in reference to bending cards in order to tease what the value of the card might be to players. Obviously you can’t bend cards physically when playing online, so in Live Baccarat Squeeze, there are different camera angles used to obtain this aspect of the game.
Live Speed Baccarat is exactly what it sounds like: a version that allows players to have the game move more quickly and be able to play more hands in a shorter period of time than conventional baccarat. This type of baccarat is great for a player who understands the game very well and is looking to move quickly.
4. Blackjack
Many players like to be able to interact with the dealer and other players while sitting at the blackjack table, and if you are playing online, you may not have that opportunity. However, playing Live Dealer Blackjack allows for that luxury. Most players know the purpose of blackjack is everyone against the dealer, essentially. Your goal is to have your original two-card hand be as close to adding up to 21 as possible without going higher. It doesn’t matter if another player at the table has a better hand than you do; as long as you beat the dealer, you win.
Live Common Draw Blackjack brings everyone against the dealer to another level. Instead of starting with your own two cards, the entire table is sharing the starting two cards, known as community cards. From there, each player then gets to determine separately how they want to play the hand. They can hit, stand, split or double down before the dealer draws for their hand to determine the outcome of that round.
Live Blackjack Early Payout is another variant of Live Blackjack that gives players a chance to cut down on their losses. So if you hold 17 from your first two cards and stand, then the dealer is showing a face card, you may wish to accept an early payout because your odds of winning the hand aren’t very high. The early payout isn’t as high as a payout for winning a hand, but it does allow the player to get back some of their bet that they would completely lose if the hand played out.
3. Poker
Sitting at a poker table and being able to communicate with the others at the table and the dealer is always an enjoyable time, especially if you have a large chip stack. In Live Dealer Poker, there are many camera feeds and chat rooms that allow you to have that communication with fellow players and the dealer at the table. There are several types of poker in a live casino, just as there are in a land-based casino.
Live Casino Hold’em is a combination of Texas Hold’em and Blackjack. It is like blackjack because in this version, you are not playing against other players at the table, but against the dealer’s hand. The rest of the game is played like Texas Hold’em. You receive two cards, and there are rounds of betting before the flop, turn and river and a final round after the river is flipped. The goal of the game is to have a better five-card hand than the dealer.
2. European Roulette
Live European Roulette has a live dealer who will spin the wheel and cycle the ball around the wheel, just like in brick-and-mortar casinos. In European Roulette, the wheel has 37 pockets with just one zero.
Immersive Roulette is a specific type of European Roulette that really makes the players feel like they are next to the wheel. This game uses HD video and audio with many camera angles that constantly switch to draw the player into the game. This game also has something you may not be able to have at a land-based casino: Immersive Roulette will run a slow-motion replay of the spin after it has completed spinning, so players can relive a nice win.
Double Ball Roulette is, you guessed it, a version of roulette with two balls on the wheel at once. This changes up the bets a little bit. Players who place bets on red/black or odd/even will need both balls to correspond with their wager, not just one. However, bets on specific numbers or groups of numbers only need one ball to land correctly to win.
1. Roulette
One of the most common live dealer games is roulette, which includes American Roulette. American Roulette features a wheel with 38 pockets. It includes numbers 1-36 and two green pockets labeled 0 and 00. Pockets 1-36 have equal numbers of red and black pockets. American Roulette is exactly the same as European Roulette, but with the addition of a 00 pocket. It is played the same way, with a live dealer spinning the wheel and cycling the ball around the wheel until the ball lands in a pocket to determine the winning bets.
So, if you are looking to play online with the luxury of having a live dealer and being able to communicate with them and other players, then these games should be on your list.
