Top 10 NFL prop bets for 2024
As we dive into the season, here are 10 prop bets to consider for this season.
(All odds provided by bet365 Sportsbook & Racebook)
10. Dallas over 9.5 wins (-150)
The Dallas Cowboys have a little reunion this year as running back Ezekiel Elliott is back after spending last season with the New England Patriots. After losing Tony Pollard in the offseason to the Titans, the Cowboys are sure glad to have the physical veteran back on their roster again.
The Cowboys had one of the best defenses a season ago, limiting opponents to under 19 points per game. The question lies in whether the offense can take care of the football and turn redzone drives into touchdowns instead of settling for field goals.
Dak Prescott will once again be under center this year and we’re sure he is glad that CeeDee Lamb signed his contract extension so his No. 1 target will not have any distractions while on the field.
Luckily for Dallas, they play in the NFC East, which means that the Washington Commanders and New York Giants could be an easy four wins added to their record with the division focus going all to the Philadelphia Eagles.
With a dependable defense and an offense that is capable of putting up 40 points in a game, this team should be able to get to double digit wins on the season.

9. Miami to win the AFC East (+200)
It seems the Patriots are in a tier of their own when it comes to the AFC East division and it isn’t one you want to be in. Basically, it seems clear to most the New England will most likely finish in last, leaving a battle for the division between the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets.
The Jets should have Aaron Rodgers as their QB for a full season, after it took him less than the opening quarter to suffer a season-ending injury last year.
Buffalo has its dual-threat QB Josh Allen, who has a great arm but also is extremely difficult to tackle in the open field when he uses his legs.
Speaking of difficult to tackle, let’s move over to Miami where WR Tyreek Hill is pretty much impossible to tackle if you are chasing him because you aren’t going to catch him. You have to keep him in front if you want any change of bringing him down. Compliment that type of skill with Jaylen Waddle’s speed and quickness and you have a major headache coming for defensive backfields. The Dolphins’ QB Tua Tagovailoa has been criticized for some of his poor throws in his career but with receivers like Miami has, it makes his job a lot easier.

8. Washington under 7.5 wins (+100)
We already touched on it briefly but the Commanders and Giants are expected to battle it out for third place in the NFC East.
Washington had the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft and chose QB Jayden Daniels out of LSU who won the Heisman Trophy last year. Daniels can extend plays by taking off and running but something he needs to learn is when to slide as he took several big hits a year ago in college from not sliding.
The rookie was just named the Commanders’ starting QB for this year and many believe it will take some take, as it does for many rookie QBs, to get comfortable.
Washington’s AFC opponents will be from the AFC North, and I see them losing to at least three of those teams. With Dallas and Philly the obvious top two teams in the division, the Commanders are going to have a tough time finding a rhythm and stringing wins together.
Bet $200 to win $100 on the Commanders under 7.5 wins
7. Green Bay to make the playoffs (-160)
With RB Aaron Jones now in Minnesota, and A.J. Dillon now missing the entire season due to injury, the Packers must be beyond grateful that they brought in Josh Jacobs who will take a majority of the reps at running back.
Jacobs had one of his worst years last year with the Las Vegas Raiders but that team had struggles in the locker room and on the field. Expect Jacobs to return to more of his normal self and help out young Jordan Love who showed serious signs of improvement last year.
Love eclipsed 4,000 yards passing with 32 touchdowns passes and 11 interceptions. The offensive line was an issue for Green Bay as Love was dropped behind the line of scrimmage 30 times. If the OL can tighten up and buy him some time, expect Love to keep trending in the right direction, finding the likes of Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs in the endzone.

6. Harrison Jr. to win Offensive Rookie of the Year (+650)
If you didn’t need a QB, Marvin Harrison Jr. would’ve been your team’s draft pick but the top three needed a young arm and the son of the Hall of Famer fell to the Arizona Cardinals at No. 4.
With Kyler Murray as QB, the Cardinals are going to look to get the ball into Harrison’s hands to make plays.
As for the players who were taken ahead of him, Drake May isn’t the starting QB for New England…yet, and the Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams are on struggling teams but the Bears should have a better season than Daniels’ Commanders.
The Cardinals aren’t going to be a top team either, but when teams struggle, a lot of the blame tends to shift toward the QB rather than a wide receiver. Plus, Harrison can easily take off for over 1,000 receiving yards and push near 100 catches.
Bet $100 to win $650 on Harrison to win Offensive Rookie of the Year
5. Mahomes to win MVP (+500)
I usually don’t like to go with favorites but it is really hard to make an argument for someone to win the Most Valuable Player of Patrick Mahomes.
Mahomes, already a two-time winner of the award (2018 and 2022), has a few new weapons to throw too after last year his receiving talent was a little thin.
The Kansas City Chiefs brought in Marquise “Hollywood” Brown from Arizona and drafted Xavier Worthy who both have explosive playmaking abilities. Add WR Rashee Rice and the go-to Travis Kelce on top, and you have an offense that is ready to lead the league in points.

4. Detroit to win the NFC North (+130)
For most of my life, I have know the Detroit Lions to be near the bottom of the league, so to write that football is fully back in Detroit is a little odd, but it is true.
QB Jared Goff has put his name back on the map with the Lions and he tossed 30 touchdowns and nearly 4,600 yards through the air last season.
The Lions have a great two-headed monster out of the backfield with the power running of David Montgomery alongside the speed and pass-catching ability of Jahmyr Gibbs.
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown has tossed his hat in the ring with some of the top receivers in the NFL. Another major bright spot for this offense is the production of rising tight end Sam LaPorta who found the endzone 10 times in 2023-2024.
Coach Dan Campbell has his team wanting to play for him and it shows. This is a scary football team on the up and up and the rest of the league better watch out.
Bet $100 to win $130 on the Lions to win the NFC North
3. Houston to make the playoffs (-190)
Another team set to full speed ahead, the Houston Texans now have their franchise QB and are adding pieces around him.
It was a surprise to no one when C.J. Stroud won Offensive Rookie of the Year last season with over 4,000 yards passing, 23 touchdowns and just five picks.
The Texans also had one of the biggest off-season moves when Stefon Diggs was traded from Buffalo to Houston. Adding Diggs to the receiving group of Tank Dell and Nico Collins, this has the argument to be one of the best pass-catching options in football. Don’t forget Dalton Schultz out of the tight end position either.
The Texans’ division, the AFC South, isn’t particularly strong but not terrible either, so Houston will need to keep improving to take over the division which they are more than capable of doing.

2. Atlanta to win the NFC South (-130)
The Atlanta Falcons were also busy this off-season as they brought in QB Kirk Cousins from the Minnesota Vikings and pass-rusher Matthew Judon from the New England Patriots.
The hope is that the veteran QB can help young players like RB Bijan Robinson and WR Drake London really sprout to create a more well-rounded and efficient offense.
Kyle Pitts, a disappointment so far in his career, needs to be a threat as a tight end if the team wants success. All of the question marked guys are still young and learning and can become dangerous players at their respective positions.
With the NFC South having the Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints, it won’t take much for the Falcons to claim the division.
Bet $130 to win $100 on the Falcons to win the NFC South
1. San Francisco to win the Super Bowl (+550)
It has been the complete opposite of drama-free for the San Francisco 49ers since their Super Bowl loss last February. Brandon Aiyuk was unhappy and hadn’t practiced with the team as of last Thursday. However, that afternoon he signed a four year/$120 million extension. On the other hand, left tackle Trent Williams is definitely not messing around with how serious he is that he will not play until a deal is done.
On top of that, the 49ers still have several other weapons to move the ball on offense with Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel. Both of these players can catch a pass and make several players miss, or take a handoff from the backfield and find their way for a first down.
The defense is still going to give opposing offenses issues like it did last year. Giving up less than 18 points per contest, the 49ers did a great job stuffing the run with teams not able to average 90 rush yards per game against them.
Many have doubts about QB Brock Purdy and that he is just surrounded by incredible playmakers, and while that could be true, it doesn’t matter as long as you are putting up wins.
