Well, in the casino industry, it seems like doors just continue to open as the casino-resorts are doing all they can to improve and attract more visitors. Expansions and openings are examples of these properties doing just that. Here, we take a look at 10 openings and plans for expansions that have been announced since our last edition in October.
10. Dominique Ansel Marché to debut at Paris Las Vegas
In partnership with Caesars Entertainment, Chef Dominique Ansel – James Beard Award-winning pastry chef and the creator of the Cronut – will open his second venue on the Las Vegas Strip, Dominique Ansel Marché at Paris Las Vegas, on 6 December.
As a thank you to those looking to take the first bites of Chef Dominique’s signature creations, the first 50 guests will receive a commemorative gift in celebration of the grand opening.

9. Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant to open at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River
Celebrated multi-Michelin starred chef and television personality Gordon Ramsay and Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel have teamed up to bring Ramsay’s Kitchen to the Murphy, North Carolina property in early 2025.
Menu offerings include dishes like the legendary Beef Wellington, Pan-seared Scallops, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and Chef’s Signature Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Expected to debut in tandem with the completion of an extensive $275 million expansion project at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River, Ramsay’s Kitchen will be located on Valley Tower’s twelfth floor.
8. Live! Casino Pittsburgh announces enhancement project
In honor of its fourth anniversary, Live! Casino Pittsburgh last week unveiled a $3 million capital investment project designed to enhance its gaming and entertainment offerings.
Now officially open to the public are the new Live! Poker Room, a High-Limit Table Games Room and The Social Club, a private meeting and event space.
Live! Casino invested $150 million into creating a first-class gaming and entertainment destination that opened to the general public on 24 November 2020. Since then, an additional $7.5 million in property enhancements have been completed.

7. Poker room opens at Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage
Agua Caliente Casinos celebrated the grand-reopening of its Poker Room inside Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage in California this weekend.
This is the only poker room in the Coachella Valley. It was closed for five months for renovation but officially reopened over the weekend. It hosts nine tables with a total of 81 seats. Any poker guest that has played poker within the last calendar year is eligible to receive an Agua Caliente Casino mug and either a poker shirt or poker cap.
6. New Fanatics Sportsbook opens in Norwalk
The Connecticut Lottery Corporation, in partnership with Fanatics Sportsbook and Sportech, opened a new retail sportsbook location on 19 November at Sportech’s Winners Norwalk location.
The new location features betting windows, eight self-service betting kiosks, and high-definition TVs situated throughout.
5. Chamonix Casino Hotel now fully open
Chamonix Casino Hotel, Colorado's newest casino destination, announced the completion of its multi-phased project at its official grand opening on 2 November.
The event included a series of special activities and gourmet meals for invited casino guests, culminating with entertainment by Jay Leno and country music star Tenille Arts.
Chamonix Casino Hotel features an expansive casino floor, with a variety of the newest slot machines, high-end table games and high-limits salon. Its 300-room hotel features the first luxury guest rooms in Cripple Creek. Chamonix also features 980 Prime, a fine-dining steakhouse, operated by celebrated Las Vegas chef Barry S. Dakake.
4. Wind Creek Chicago Southland opens casino doors
Wind Creek Hospitality celebrated the opening of Wind Creek Chicago Southland on Monday, 11 November.
The state-of-the-art casino represents the first step toward delivering a full-scale integrated resort experience, scheduled for completion in spring 2025.
Spanning 70,000 square feet, Wind Creek Chicago Southland features over 1,400 slot machines, 56 table games, high-limit slot areas, a high-limit table games salon, a poker room, and a sportsbook.
3. Rio Las Vegas completes first phase of transformation
The newly reimagined Rio Hotel & Casino officially joined the Destination by Hyatt brand, following the completion of the resort’s first phase of its $340 million property-wide transformation.
Rio is the largest property within Hyatt’s global hotel portfolio, based on room count, and the first Destination by Hyatt hotel in Nevada.
Phase one of the Las Vegas resort’s $340 million renovation included the full redesign and modernization of the all-suite resort’s 1,500-room Ipanema Tower. The hotel also recently unveiled six new culinary destinations within the new Canteen Food Hall, 220,000 square feet of newly renovated meetings and convention space, a revamped pool district with four pools, and more than 500 new slot machines and 30 table games on the resort’s casino floor.

2. Caesars Virginia set to open on 12 December
Earlier this month, Caesars Virginia announced its anticipated opening date will be 12 December. Caesars Virginia is a 587,000 square foot casino resort with more than 90,000 square feet of gaming space, including nearly 1,500 slots, 79 live-action table games, 48 electronic table games, a WSOP poker room and Caesars Sportsbook.
Additionally, Caesars Virginia includes a 320-room hotel tower, 50,000 square feet of meeting and convention space that also serves as a 2,500-seat live entertainment venue, full-service spa, pool, and a variety of dining.
1. Hard Rock Bristol celebrates grand opening
On 14 November, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol celebrated its grand opening with Hard Rock’s iconic guitar smash ceremony.
The 620,000-square-foot resort features nearly 1,500 slot machines, more than 50 table games, a sportsbook, 300-plus hotel rooms and seven unique dining options, including a signature Hard Rock Cafe.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol operated from its temporary facility, ‘Bristol Casino – Future Home of Hard Rock,’ from July 2022 until 11 November 2024.
The temporary casino welcomed more than 3 million guests, paid over $68 million in gaming taxes to the Commonwealth of Virginia, donated more than $960,000 to support local community nonprofit organizations, and paid over $262 million in jackpots.
