This Week in Gambling: Las Vegas casinos comeback and goodbye Full Tilt Poker

25 Feb 2021

Gambling news finds the loosening of restrictions on Las Vegas casinos, and several have decided to return to 24/7 service. Meanwhile, Virgin Las Vegas has set a new opening date and Las Vegas shows are expanding capacity. Also, we say goodbye as Full Tilt Poker closed.

Several Las Vegas casinos reopen in an effort to get 'back to normal'. Vegas casino restrictions have been loosened, so Mandalay Bay, Park MGM and The Mirage will resume 24/7 operations effective 3 March. The change comes as MGM sees increased interest in travel to Las Vegas casinos. Previously, each property had implemented selective mid-week closures.

MGM also recently announced several of their Vegas shows reopening in February and March. Days and hours of operation will vary at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, The Mirage, Park MGM and other Vegas casinos.

Also, COVID-19 derailed the opening of the Virgin Las Vegas set in mid-January. Now the property has a new date of 25 March. Set to open where the Hard Rock used to be located, the 60,000 square foot operation which will be managed by Mohegan Gaming, making it the first Tribal Gaming operation in Las Vegas.
