But one German woman has taken "cost cutting" to an extreme -- and we totally dig it.

Leonie Muller, 23, pays £240 a month for a monthly season ticket on the train, and that counts as her rent payment. Yes, you read that correctly -- she lives on a train.

Every night, Muller, a student at Tubingen University, packs up all her belongings and takes them with her on the rails. She is a true modern day hobo, and a successful one at that.

"I really feel at home and I can visit so many more friends and cities," Muller told The Express. "It's like being on vacation all the time. I read, I write, I look out of the window and I meet nice people all the time. There's always something to do on trains."

If you think Muller sounds crazy, you're probably not alone. But in this economy, who could blame someone for thinking outside the box to save a little dough?
