The Reel Life: Space beer edition
3 Oct 2013
Delaware brewery Dogfish Head has created a new new small-batch brew called Celest-jewel-ale, made with real lunar meteorites. A local engineering firm called ILC Dover, which makes spacesuits for NASA, gives Dogfish Head the meteorites, which are then crushed into dust and steeped like tea in the brewery's Oktoberfest lager.
"These certified moon jewels are made up primarily of minerals and salts," according to the Dogfish Head website, "helping the yeast-induced fermentation process and lending this traditional German-style a subtle but complex earthiness (Or is it mooniness?)"
The Reel Life is up for trying anything, and this is right up our alley. Who wouldn't want to drink space beer? If we can just figure out a way to make poker chips out of moon rocks, we'll have ourselves a complete celestial evening.
You're up, Paulson.
