The Reel Life sleeps on the job
21 Oct 2010
A police officer in Groveland, Mass. was fired this week after being accused of looking at inappropriate pictures on his work computer and sleeping in his squad car. According to Boston TV station WHDH, police officials said former officer Aaron Yeo would spend hours surfing on the Internet while on duty.
The Groveland Police Department became suspicious of Yeo and wired his car with GPS and video. They caught Yeo sleeping on the job and calling false locations into the dispatch.
Yeo's attorney said there was a perfectly good explanation why he had to those file false locations into dispatch. Those locations "were kept secret because he was watching for terrorists," according to WHDH.
"He was concerned and fairly so that if somebody was using a scanner they'd listen to find out where he was," said attorney Stephen Pfaff.
The Reel Life will remember to keep that excuse in our memory banks the next time we're caught napping on the job. Because if we get in trouble for that, then the terrorists certainly have won.

Fans of the game show "Wheel of Fortune" are sure to be fans of Win A Day Casino's new "Win a Fortune" slot machine.
"Win A Fortune" is a five-reel 15-payline slot machine that's really three games in one: the classic slot machine game, the Double Bonus game and the Fortune Wheel. A Double symbol on the rightmost reel triggers the Double Bonus Game where players can double the last spin's winnings, and continue doubling them until they reach the top level of the flashing jackpot ladder.
Inspired by the popular American television game show, the Fortune Wheel above the slot machine reels has two wheels. It is triggered when the Fortune Wheel symbol appears on the fifth reel of the slots game below. The outer wheel determines which symbol will be wild in the main game and the win from the last round on the slot machine is re-calculated using the new Wild symbol as soon as the Fortune Wheel stops turning.
