The Reel Life: No one rides for free
16 Jun 2011
According to The Register-Mail in Galesburg, Ill., a woman was arrested earlier this week on eight counts of stealing gas. All of the thefts occurred at the same station.
The station manager at a HyVee store in Galesburg told police the driver of a white Saturn had taken gas and driven off with out paying eight separate times in less than a month. The last time this occurred he was able to get a license plate number.
Police officers were shown surveillance video and were able to figure out that the same person had pumped gas each time. Karleena Lorren Kempf, 35, was arrested at her home on Saturday after police tracked down the license plate.
Kempf "said she did take the gasoline because she didn’t have money to pay for it, and her boyfriend made her do it," according to the The Register-Mail.
The Reel Life wishes to remind Kempf about this famous motto from the 1960s (well before we were born): Ass, gas and grass: No one rides for free.
