The world's most expensive bottle of vodka, valued at about $1.3 million, has been stolen from a bar in Copenhagen, the BBC reports.

The headline on the story says that the item stolen was the "world's most expensive vodka," which is very misleading, as it implies that the vodka was the expensive part. It would indeed be wild if the vodka itself was valued at $1.3 million, considering that high-quality vodka tastes like nothing, and there's only so much nothing it can taste like.

Indeed, we can't find any reporting on how good the vodka is. The bottle, however, is positively decadent, having been commissioned by a luxury car manufacturer to celebrate its centenary: It's silver and gold, featuring leather upholstery and a radiator guard. We admit we've never heard of an upholstered liquor bottle before.

One common downside of stealing highly distinctive items is that they can be quite risky to fence (we promise we don't know this for any shady reason), so it seems likely that the thief could end up destroying the bottle in order to get money out of it—picking the diamonds out of the diamond-encrusted bottle cap and selling them individually, that sort of thing. We assume it's unlikely that he's just going to drink the vodka and toss the bottle in the recycling, at any rate.

If the thief does drink the vodka, we hope he gets it on the record whether it was any good or not.
