The Reel Life: Ghost date edition

15 Feb 2018

Avast, mateys, we have found one wacky Valentine's Day news story for you. And yes, we know Valentine's Day was yesterday; that's not the point.

Professional Captain Jack Sparrow impersonator Amanda Teague went on a talk show to explain her Valentine's Day plans with her husband, the 300-year-old ghost of a Haitian pirate, coincidentally also named Jack. Teague says that she doesn't know what Jack looks like so she just imagines that he also looks like Captain Jack Sparrow, which seems unlikely, but convenient.

When asked if she books a table for two when going on dates, Teague, rocking absolutely fabulous eye makeup, explained that she usually books a table for four, because her best friend is now dating Jack's best friend, who is also a pirate ghost. ("Jack likes rum and Matthew likes beer," she explained.)

While much of the public reaction to Teague's wedding announcement last month was mockery — apparently, many people either do not believe in ghosts, don't think you can have a fulfilling relationship with one, or are aware that "pirate" isn't a quirky subculture but actually a type of violent criminal — we here at the Reel Life think that Teague and her excellent eyebrows appear to be living their best life, and we are fully supportive. Teague is on some Disney villainess-level weirdness, but it seems pretty harmless, and her wedding photos look like a fun Halloween party.

So, Amanda and Jack, we hope you two had a lovely, piratical Valentine's Day. And to everyone else, whether you've found love or not — in this life or the next — don't be afraid to let your freak flag fly, even if said flag is the Jolly Roger.

Get in the fast lane, Grandma, this bingo game is ready to roll!

This weekend, Intertops Poker and Juicy Stakes players will earn tournament points playing four real-money online slots from Betsoft. The slot tournament begins 16 February and ends 18 February. The 10 players with the most points at the end of the tournament will win $1,000 in prizes.

Betsoft slots are known for their brilliant images and innovative bonus features. The four games featured in this tournament are SugarPop! 2, Under the Sea, Kawaii Kitty and Charms & Clovers. Players will earn one point for every spin of 10 cents or more on any of the featured games.

SugarPop! combines the fun of video games with the thrills of slot machines. Popping candies explode and new symbols take their place, giving more chances at winning combinations. High value power candies unlock as players progress through the game's levels.

Under the Sea takes players to a coral reef teeming with tropical fish. A beautiful pearl acts as the wild symbol, which can multiply wins up to 5x. A sunken ship is the scatter. It can trigger up to 300 free spins. Treasure chests start a bonus round with instant prizes.

Kawaii Kitty is a 3-D game with Expanding Wilds and a chance to double winnings in its Double Up feature. It's built on Betsoft's revolutionary Shift platform for quick loading and fast game play.

Charms & Clovers brings ancient Irish mythology to life in gorgeous high-definition color. Its unique sixth reel controls four bonus features, including a money wheel that players spin to win one of three jackpots.

This Betsoft slots tournament will award a total of $1,000 in prizes. The player with the most points by Sunday night will win $300. Second prize is $200 and third prize is $150. Tournament prizes must be rolled over at least once on Betsoft games in order to be withdrawn.

In addition to their busy online poker rooms on the Horizon Poker Network, Intertops Poker and Juicy Stakes also offer slots, video poker, table games and wheel games from Lucktap, World Match and Betsoft.
