But we've never thought that a store would put things outside just for people to take for free. That, however, is exactly what Ruben Pabon claims after he was arrested for theft after taking items from the porch of a thrift shop named Finders Keepers in Derry, N.H.
Pabon told WMUR that since the name of the store was Finders Keepers, he just figured they "put stuff out there for people to take."
If nothing else, it's a creative defense. So kudos Mr. Pabon, but next time, make sure that you exchange some cash for the stuff you want to keep.
