The Reel Life: Don't text the bears edition

The Reel Life admits that sometimes we get lost in our cell phone (though we never text and drive). But we've never been in the middle of texting to look up and find a bear staring us in the face.

Vaz Terdandenyan ended up in that exact situation earlier this week. He heard KTLA's helicopters overhead and was trying to investigate what was happening. He decided he'd better text his boss to tell him he was going to be late to work when he looked up and was just a few feet away from a 600-pound black bear.

"I was texting my boss that I would be late for work, something is going on, and I'm coming down the stairs and I see the bear coming up the stairs towards me, so I turned back and ran for my life," said Terdandenyan. "I guess running for a marathon came in handy because I was in shape to run away."
