The Reel Life: Customer service edition

1 Oct 2009

Customer service is important for The Reel Life. If we think an online slot has been shortchanging us, you better believe we'll be calling someone and demanding to speak to a representative. A New York man not satisfied with his bank's customer service took it one step further. One giant step further.

According to the New York Daily News, Dalton Chiscolm, unhappy with Bank of America's customer service, filed a lawsuit against the company, demanding that "1,784 billion, trillion dollars" be deposited into his account the next day. He also demanded an additional $200,164,000, according to court papers.

If Chiscolm were to win this lawsuit, his take would dwarf the world's 2008 gross domestic product of $60 trillion. His request is equivalent to 1 followed by 22 digits.

Sylvain Cappell, New York University's Silver Professor at the Courant Institute for Mathematical Sciences, told the Daily News that "these are the kind of numbers you deal with only on a cosmic scale. If he thinks Bank of America has branches on every planet in the cosmos, then it might start to make some sense."

The Reel Life is rooting hard for Chiscolm to be successful. Sometimes, it's good to see the common man take on the big corporations.
