The Reel Life: Cruisin' for a snoozin' edition

7 Jan 2016

Bus rides are long and tedious. Have you ever taken a Greyhound bus? The Reel Life would rather walk.

Perhaps the most frustrating part of public transportation is having no control over your journey. And for a group of bus passengers last week in the Midwest, the worst nightmare for any bus passenger came to fruition.

A Greyhound bus on a route bound for Denver made a pit stop at a motel in Kansas last week, so the bus driver could get out, pay for a hotel room and take a nap. Only the bus driver didn't tell anyone what he was doing or how long he would be gone for. The passengers simply sat on the bus for hours.

Oh, but here's the best part — Greyhound isn't taking the blame for anything! The company said the driver had to finish his federally-regulated rest hours, and that the passengers could have waited inside a fast food restaurant to keep warm.

Mind. Blown.

Hopefully the bus at least had WiFi, so those passengers could catch up on some online slots while they froze to death.

Get in the fast lane, Grandma, this bingo game is ready to roll!

Quality slots and table games provider Habanero has started 2016 with a bang by releasing its brand new title, Bombs Away.

The cross-platform 5x3, 50-fixed line video slot takes players back in time into a Second World War-themed diversion with stunning graphics and a nostalgic soundtrack.

Bombs appear and explode on the reels, prompting a random number of adjacent symbols, including the bomb itself, to become wild.

During the free spins feature round, a bomber swoops over the game to release its payload, turning even more symbols wild and sending payouts sky-high.

Chris Visser, head of game development at Habanero, believes the game will be a real blast for players at a number of leading casino brands.

"Bombs Away is a great little slot and enjoys the same immersive qualities of all of our new HTML5 games," Visser said. "It provides operators with a brand new yet popular theme, and its low volatility and great Big Band soundtrack will certainly put players 'in the mood' for more of the same!"

Bombs Away joins Gold Rush as the latest additions to Habanero's stable of over 50 slots, six table games and 10 video poker titles. These are integrated directly into over 20 operators and available in 15 languages, including eight European and six Asian ones.

The company, which recently signed a deal to distribute its games through leading supplier EveryMatrix, will be showcasing its products on stand N2-234 at next month's ICE Totally Gaming.
