The Reel Life

10 Dec 2009

The Reel Life doesn't condone drinking and driving. When we go out, we always make sure to take a cab home or have a designated driver. Usually we don't get too inebriated because playing the online slots drunk not good for our wallets. That being said, we did chuckle when we heard about a DUI in Pennsylvania Dutch country.

According to Fox News, police arrested 22-year-old Elmer Stoltzfoos Fisher on drunk driving charges after they pulled him over in Lancaster. What makes this story unique is the vehicle Fisher was driving: a horse and buggy.

Fox News says that an "off-duty officer from nearby Quarryville reported seeing the horse pulling the buggy at a walking pace as it straddled the center line." Fisher was slumped over and asleep in the buggy, according to police.

When police administered a breathalyzer test to Fisher, it showed he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.18, more than twice the legal limit.

The Reel Life has previously pledged to never to get behind the wheel of a car if we've had too much to drink. We will now pledge to never to get behind a horse and buggy if we've had too much to drink.
