The Reel Life

21 May 2009

While playing the online slots, The Reel Life often listens to music. If we are really into a particular slot, we might turn the music up. But you can bet that if a cop knocked on our door and told us to quiet down, we'd certainly comply. A Kansas man had other ideas.

According to The Wichita Eagle, Marcus Johnson "became angered when a police officer told him to turn down the music in his car while he was parked at a south Wichita convenience store" in January of 2008.

Apparently, Johnson wasn't going to take any lip from this cop. So he went downtown to City Hall, drove up a ramp to the building and crashed his car through a set of glass doors. He continued through the building before slamming into a wall in a parking garage.

"The incident caused about $200,000 in damages and prompted the installation of temporary traffic barriers around the perimeter of the building grounds," according to the Eagle.

Johnson was sentenced on Wednesday to 10 years in prison. Despite that, he can look on the bright side. In jail, he'll never have to worry about an officer telling him to turn his car radio down.
