The Reel Life
The Reel Life enjoys the nightlife from time to time, especially if it's coming on the heels of a big jackpot. When we go out, we make sure that we have enough money to pay for a way back home, especially if our journey home is more than a couple of miles when you can bet we'll be taking a cab. Unfortunately for a British woman, she does not gameplan her night as well as The Real Life does.
According to the Daily Mail, Amanda Leaff, 46, was arrested for "driving-erratically" by an off-duty police officer. She recorded 77mg of alcohol on her breath - the legal driving limit is 35mg. The difference between this arrest and a run-of-the-mill DUI is the vehicle Leaff was operating: A supermarket mobility scooter with a top speed of 2.4 miles per hour.
Leaff told police officers that "she had taken the buggy from an Asda store to save herself the taxi fare home." The journey home was 10 miles and she managed to drive two-and-a-half miles before getting stopped. A British court "heard the journey would have taken her four hours," according to the Daily Mail.
Leaff's "joyride" cost her big. The court banned her from driving for 20 months and ordered her to pay a £240 fine. A spokesman for Aida said, "The scooters, although very practical and robust, are not really designed for road use."
The Reel Life does see a silver lining in all of this. Instead of driving erratically and endangering others, Leaff can spend the next 20 months playing the online slots. Her luck can't possibly get any worse, right?
