The Reel Life

18 Dec 2008

The Reel Life wants to state for the record that it does not use performance-enhancing drugs when playing the online slots. Well, unless coffee and Diet Coke are considered performance-enhancing. When one thinks of doping scandals, they think of Ben Johnson or BALCO or the Mitchell Report. But not chess.

The chess world is in a frenzy after Ukrainian Vassily Ivanchuk, ranked third in the world, refused to submit a urine sample for a drug test at a tournament in Germany. According to Spiegel Online, Ivanchuk did not take a loss to American Gata Kansky very well. After the defeat, "a judge asked Ivanchuk to submit to a drug test. Instead, (Ivanchuk) stormed out of the room in the conference center, kicked a concrete pillar in the lobby, pounded a countertop in the cafeteria with his fists and then vanished into the coatroom." The grandmaster faces a two-year ban.

Could this be the sign of a sore loser? Or "roid" rage? Who really knows? But we do know that performance-enhancing drugs will never have a place in the online slots world, as long as caffeine stays off the banned-substances list.

Get in the fast lane grandma, the Bingo game is ready to roll!

Twice is nice

32Red announced that one player at Dash Casino has won the jackpot for the second time in a short period.

The fortunate player at Dash Casino won two big payouts - both reported to be five digit figures - at the same slot machine within a five month period.

The Dash double winner, Kelly Merlo from Canada, logged into the Casino on the morning of the 17th June to play the progressive slot machine, Lot's of Loot. After just a few spins, Kelly lined up the game's logos across the reels and won her first jackpot. Her second big win came just five months later, when she hot the Lot's of Loot jackpot again on the 20th November 2008.

Kelly was amazed at her second jackpot win at Dash Casino. "I have, for the second time, just won the Lot's of Loot Jackpot and am in total awe" she said. "Dash has by far the most outstanding support/management staff, hands down."

Ms. Merlo's winning streak prompted Stephen Macdonald, Dash Casino Manager, to say: "We get many big winners at Dash but rarely two big jackpots from the same player on the same machine. We're delighted for Kelly and the whole Dash team has passed our congratulations onto her."
