The Reel Life

25 Nov 2008

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. It's the definition of a cliché, but we here at The Reel Life have always believed in it. If the slots aren't hitting, keep playing until they are. And one English jockey has taken that cliché to heart.

According to the Daily Mail, Anthony Knott had been racing horses since 1980. And in those 28 years, he had never won. Not once. But at long last, the 44-year-old daily farmer came in first place last Thursday in a race at Wincanton Racecourse. And he almost blew it at the end.

Knott was so overcome with the taste of success that he "stood up in his irons to celebrate and wave to spectators - causing him to be nearly overtaken in the final furlong," the Daily Mail reported.

Thankfully for Knott, he was able to hold on for the win, despite his premature victory celebration. And after his win, he immediately retired.

"A few years ago I thought it was about time I packed it all in," Knott told the Daily Mail. "I'd been trying so long for a win and never managed it."

The Reel Life applauds Mr. Knott for finally breaking through. And since we started this with a cliché, we're going to end it with one. Slot enthusiasts (and Mr. Knott): don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Better Casino newcomer takes home huge prize

Just three days after he first began playing, Reiner K. from Berkshire, UK, was the lucky winner of more than £50,000. Reiner was playing a 20 Line video slot game, Desert Treasure, from Better Casino when he won.

"This is an incredible win and we are as thrilled as Reiner is with his windfall... we hope he enjoys the complimentary bottle of bubbly we sent through as a congratulations gift", says Better Casino VIP Manager, Kate Thornley.

Better Casino offers players a range of slots from the basic Classic Single Line slots to the enthralling 20 Line Video Slot. Many of their games also feature progressive jackpots. Reiner had only been part of the casino for 24 hours when he hit a massive £30,000 payout and took his winnings past £50,000 two days later.

Player wins big at All Slots

All Slots Online Casino, a proud member of the Jackpot Factory Group, announces that a member of the group's VIP Lounge, Todd F., won a $100,000 payout on video poker game, Deuces Wild 50 Play Power Poker.

"This is one of the highest payouts a player can win in a non-progressive casino game," says David Brickman, the Jackpot Factory's VP of Player Affairs, in a joint statement with All Slots Casino. "We are obviously thrilled for Todd and our VIP Lounge Manager has sent a special gift to help him celebrate his video poker win."

In addition to its huge jackpots, All Slots Casino offers players numerous opportunities to win in a variety of exciting promotions including this month's Jackpot $9999 and the recent $500,000 World Series of Slots multiplayer slots tournament.
