TexasToothpick wins Americas Cardroom's THE $1K CAGE
30 Oct 2015
“There was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears flowing in Wednesday night’s installment of The Cage and we were thrilled to see a lot of talent come out and fight their way to victory” stated Michael Harris, spokesperson for Americas Cardroom. "We were impressed that 50 players showed to this new version of THE CAGE and more to see 36% of the field come out with cash."
THE CAGE is Americas Cardroom's groundbreaking 4-hour game that combines the best of tournaments and cash games. The goal of The Cage is to emerge after four hours with chips in hand.
Players bought into The Cage last night for $1,000+$50 and received exactly $1,000 in chips. Each chip has an actual cash value and players were given exactly four hours to dropkick their way to victory. Unlike a poker tournament, those who busted out were not eligible to buy back in.
At the end of the four hours, a total of 18 players were left standing with chips in hand, with 10 of them winning more than $2,000. All players then received the exact value of their chips in cash, credited back to their account.
The top winner in yesterday’s match was TexasToothpick, who emerged from The Cage with $8,540. Rounding out the top-5 were jsnbr ($6,094), MacheezMO ($4,455), Skiper888 ($4,319) and ZattaCabbage ($3,481).
The Beast and Sit & Crush Sunday satellites guarantee 19 seats each week to the $1k Cage and have a direct buy-in of $55. Players can also receive their satellite entry for free by earning enough points in either or the weekly points races.
