Tens or Better great for beginners
Video poker is a perfect game for someone that loves the slot machines, but wants to be at the poker table at the same time. And with rules that vary from game to game, , there is plenty of strategy involved in playing. For someone who's interested in video poker at its most basic level, Golden Casino's multi-hand "Tens or Better" game is a good place to start.
The game is quite simple. The player decides if they want to play with two, three or four hands. The dealer (the machine) deals the player five cards face-up. The player decides which cards to hold (keep) or discard. The cards that the player holds will be used in the remaining hands as well, so choose wisely. The dealer then deals out the rest of the cards to fill in the other hands. The object is to get the strongest hand possible. The game is called "Tens or Better" because the minimum hand to receive a payout is a pair of tens. There are no wild cards.
A cool feature in this game is the ability to double your earnings after a win. If you choose to double after a win, the machine deals out five cards, with one of them face-up. You have to then select a card that is higher in value than the face-up card. If you are correct, you double up. If not, you lose everything. You can keep doubling until you lose your money, or decide to take your next spin.
