Tatts pays $850m for NSW lotteries

NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia -- Tatts Group has purchased New South Wales lotteries business, putting in the strongest bid of $850 million in cash, according to the Dow Jones Newswire.
The bid exceeded the market expectation of $600m to $700m, according to Dow Jones.
Tatts is increasing its lottery business with this 40 year licence, while New South Wales sold the business to fund infrastructure, the Dow Jones Newswire said.
