Tabcorp pushes for second NSW casino
AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Australian: "As shares in embattled Tabcorp touched a three-month low yesterday, speculation surfaced that Tweed Heads on NSW's north coast could be the location of the state's second casino.
"Tabcorp's 12-year exclusivity period for the existing Star City casino ends in September, and James Packer's PBL is likely to lobby the NSW Government to change the model to include a regional entertainment casino.
"Tabcorp chief Matthew Slatter is expected to push for a meeting with the NSW government later this month.
"If the NSW model changed, Tabcorp would be interested in bidding for the second licence, Mr Slatter said last week. It is understood Tweed Heads and the Hunter Valley are possible locations…"
